If someone asks me, do you like Calgary? I answer, "Yes, I like." I think is one of the safest and honest cities that I known. You can walk alone at night, buy something with your credit card, and get money in the atm without worried that someone astonishingly is going to con, steal or kill you. Compare with my country it is different, but, sometimes, depend of the city where you live. The civilian police is the PDI, Investigations Police in Chile, who are worried in criminal investigation and law enforcement, in murders, corruption and domestic violence; according to information found on the internet in 2012 Chile had a murder rate of 3,1 per 100.000 population, about 550 murders that year; however, they investigate other cases too like antinarcotics, robbery, economic crimes, and cybercrimes. Other entity is the military police "Carabineros de Chile". Both of them have interesting websites who help you and give recommendations how you can stay safe, how to report a crime and fraud, and tips to avoid them including about protecting your kids, at work, on the internet, and give you information about dangerous criminals. In spite of this help, you always need to be careful. However, nowadays, I prefer to stay here in Calgary because I feel happy, more protected and safe. Do you agree with me?
I agree to your idea. Calgary is safer city than I thought in Japan.
ReplyDeleteCrime is scary, and I think Calgary is safe city!
ReplyDeleteI think we always need to be careful.
ReplyDeleteCalgary is actually safer now than it was 20 or 30 years ago, especially if you look at per capita crime rates. Most of the murders that happen are related to the drug trade, so ordinary citizens don't have to worry much.
